Red Shoulder Blue Peacock Cichlid (Aulonocara Hansbaenschi)
The thick red color behind the gills gives this Cichlid the name of Red Shoulder. There is a few variations of this fish and seem to confuse a lot of Cichlid Keepers but they have slight differences. In example on this RSBP the red will run from top back of the head, down to the pelvic fins, a solid royal blue body and a bright white stripe on the tip of the dorsal fin would be a good adult specimen. Note that they are all unique and some might have more of one color than the other, nonetheless they are all exceptional Cichlids and just like other fish they can be affected by their surrounding habitat or dominant position.
