The OB Peacock falls on the list of the most popular African Cichlids. The impressive coloration and pattern, makes it obvious why this species gained so much popularity. There is African Cichlid breeders dedicated full-time to creating new variations of their own. OB stands for orange blotched and it was originated by crossing a male Aulonocara species with an OB female Mbuna. A flake food or pellet food with an algae/spirulina base is recommended to enhance their beautiful colors. The coloration will intensify as they mature and their max size is 6" inches. Due to their Semi Aggressive temperament, they do best with similar Cichlids like other Peacocks and Haplochromis.
