The L306 Pleco (Panaqolus claustellifer), commonly known as the Blood Red Tiger or Takutu Tiger Pleco, is a highly sought-after wood-eating species. Native to the Rio Branco drainage in Brazil and Guyana, it is prized for its deep orange-red body and bold black tiger stripes. 
Key Care & Requirements
    • Diet: Xylivore (wood eater). They require ample driftwood in the tank, supplemented with sinking algae wafers, spirulina, and occasional fresh veggies.
  • Size: Maxes out around 4 to 5 inches in length.
  • Temperature: 78°F to 86°F.
  • Water Chemistry: pH of 6.5 to 7.5.
  • Temperament: Peaceful in community tanks, but multiple males should be provided with plenty of caves and crevices to establish territory.
  • Sexing: Females are visibly wider across the pectoral region, while males grow noticeable, hair-like bristles (odontodes) along their back and gill plates during breeding season
